The SA Greenberg Lab: The Inclusion Body Myositis Research Project

Inflammatory Myopathies

The inflammatory myopathies are autoimmune diseases with progressive skeletal muscle weakness associated with inflammatory cell infiltration within muscle. The principal subtypes are dermatomyositis, polymyositis, and inclusion body myositis. In addition to muscle, other tissues may be involved, such as skin (dermatomyositis), and lung (dermatomyositis and polymyositis). Link here for specific information for inclusion body myositis and dermatomyositis.
